Buy a Green Bracelet and Help Africans Help Africa
The Diamond Empowerment Fund's mission is to raise money to support education initiatives that develop and empower economically - disadvantaged people in African nations where diamonds are a natural resource. The DEF is a non-profit international organization founded by Russell Simmons, along with other individuals in the diamond and jewelry industries and others who are committed to the empowerment of Africa.
The Russell Simmons “Green Bracelet” is the symbol of the Diamond Empowerment Fund, and has raised more than $750,000 for the fund to date. Every sale of the bracelet includes a fixed donation going to the Diamond Empowerment Fund, raising funds for Africa.
Inspired by Hip Hop culture, the Green Bracelet is bold, edgy and oversized. Fashioned from green malachite and a single rough diamond, the green is intended to symbolize prosperity, well-being, and care for the planet and its entire people. Importantly, green also represents the continent of Africa; including its natural and human resources. The collection is intended to symbolize and communicate the efforts to empower Africa’s most treasured resource – its youth – through education.
